External Advisory Committee

The External Advisory Committee for the UCI ADRC consists of outstanding clinical and scientific leaders in the field of Alzheimer’s Disease. The role of the committee is to provide input to the Director and the ADRC executive committee. The committee is convened on an annual basis and critically evaluates the progress of the UCI ADRC as well as ensuring that proposed actions are sound.

Leon Thal, M.D.

Leon Thal

(1944-2007)

Dr. Leon Thal was a great friend to the Institute for many years serving as the chair of the external advisory committee for the ADRC. He had an international impact on the field of Alzheimer’s disease through his efforts to find new drugs to treat this disorder, and his tremendous collaborative efforts, including the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study and the Alzheimer’s Disease NeuroImaging Initiative.
